A chemical peel is a twenty-minute treatment that is safe for all skin types. It can be combined with a facial or other treatments, which will result in a longer appointment time.

The two most common chemical peels are glycolic, and lactic acid peels and AHAs are the mildest option for chemical peels. They work for the treatment of fine lines, pigment concerns, and acne.

A light glycolic peel will last for between one and two months. Regular monthly chemical peels over a six-month period work well to target fine lines, skin tone, discoloration, and sun damage. After the series is completed, maintenance peels can be scheduled as required.

A light peel has little to no downtime and can be scheduled during a regular day as you will be able to return to work or your daily activities immediately after. There may be some redness and photosensitivity, so it is recommended to avoid the sun and wear a high factor sunblock for a few days after the treatment.

There may be some tingling or tightness, but chemical peels are not painful. After the appointment, your skin may be sensitive, so avoid direct sunlight and do not exfoliate for forty-eight hours.
